PSGS is extremely grateful for our long-service employees; they are our informal corporate memory, and mentors and advisers to newer staff members. In March we celebrated 92 colleagues who have been with the company for ten years, including 55 Iraqi team members, reflecting our commitment to hiring, training and promoting locally. Employees reaching ten years’ service were presented with an appreciation certificate, 10-year badge, trophy and corporate gift in an online awards ceremony; if you’re on one of our sites, look out for PSGS employees wearing their ten-year badge!

Currently, 16% of our staff have been with us for over ten years and another 28% for more than five years. Our longest-serving three staff members have been with the company for 19 years. Royal Paul Sirvel was hired as a Kitchen Equipment Technician and now heads his own department based at our head office as a Construction Manager; Chandaka Peethi Prasad was hired as a Cook and is now a Head Chef; and Salam Putham Veetil was hired as a Waiter and is now our Central Warehouse Manager. Having so many employees with such long service is a testament to the supportive environment of PSGS and our focus on training and development, as well as to their own talents and determination and we think that’s worth celebrating
