PSGS observed Global Safety Day on 7 May 2026 across all our locations. The safety team chose the theme of back-to-basics for this year’s event as a reminder to staff at all levels of the organization to pause and focus on implementing fundamentals of safety; and a confirmation of our commitment to the ‘Goal Zero’ policy through applying a comply – intervene – respect approach.
The event included all teams across Iraq joining a conference call to highlight the importance of health and safety back-to-basics and non-negotiable adherence to safety policies, including stop work, and correct use of PPE. Five members of staff from across our operations were identified as Safety Champions for their daily dedication to safe working practices and a Best QHSE Officer was celebrated as a leader in operational health and safety. Safety briefings on the back-to-basics theme were delivered at all sites, and our safety pledge in English and Arabic was distributed and signed by staff to reconfirm their focus on a safe working environment or all staff and stakeholders.
